The main difference between double-glazed and triple-glazed windows lies in the number of panes of glass and the level of insulation they provide:
Double-glazed windows
Made of two panes of glass with a sealed gap in between, usually filled with air or an insulating gas (like argon).
Provide good insulation against heat loss, noise, and condensation compared to single glazing.
Commonly used in homes as a cost-effective energy-saving option.
Triple-glazed windows
Made of three panes of glass with two insulating gaps between them.
Offer greater thermal efficiency and soundproofing than double glazing.
Better suited for very cold climates or homes where maximum energy efficiency is required.
Usually more expensive, heavier, and may reduce the amount of natural light slightly compared to double glazing.
👉 In short:
Double glazing = 2 panes (standard insulation).
Triple glazing = 3 panes (higher insulation, but more costly).
