A RAL colour is a standardised colour reference system — basically a universal colour code so everyone (manufacturers, painters, window suppliers) is talking about exactly the same shade 🎨

Instead of saying “dark grey” or “off-white” (which is vague and dangerous 😅), you specify a RAL number and there’s no confusion.
