Are Composite Doors fire rated?

Not all composite doors are fire rated. Standard composite doors are designed for security, durability, and insulation, but they do not automatically provide fire resistance.
If you require a fire-rated door, you need to specifically request a fire door (often called an FD30 or FD60 door, indicating 30 or 60 minutes of fire resistance). Fire-rated composite doors are specially constructed and tested to meet strict fire safety standards. They will be clearly labeled and certified as fire doors.
If fire safety is a requirement for your project, always check the certification and ask your supplier for documentation proving the door’s fire rating.
